Leh-Ladakh Package Details

Day 01: Arrival

  • Arrival at Leh by morning flight.
  • Transfer to the hotel.
  • Enjoy a welcome drink and take complete rest for acclimatization to the high altitude of Leh (3500 meters).
  • Late afternoon drive to the city for an orientation walk in the markets.
  • Visit Shanti Stupa and Leh Palace.
  • Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 02: LEH TO KARGIL (290 KMS /9 HR)

  • After breakfast, drive downstream along the River Indus on the Leh – Kargil Highway.
  • Visit Gurudwara Patthar Sahib, nestled deep in the Himalayas.
  • Drive 4 km further to experience Magnetic Hill, which defies the laws of gravity.
  • Continue through a picturesque landscape to reach the Confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers.
  • Take a detour just before Saspul to visit the active Likir Monastery.
  • After visiting Likir Monastery, drive along the River Indus toward Uletokpo or Tingmosgang, stopping at Ridzong Monastery (option to walk up for those interested).
  • Witness the dramatic view of Ridzong Monastery, hidden at the end of a steep valley.
  • Drive to Kargil, visiting the 11th-century Lamayuru Monastery and the mesmerizing Moon Landscapes along the way.
  • Cross Fatu-la Pass (13,489 ft), the highest pass on the Srinagar – Leh road.
  • Pay tribute at Vijay Smarak, dedicated to Indian soldiers from the Kargil War of 1999.
  • Drive to Drass and return to Kargil for an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 03: KARGIL TO LEH (VIA LAMAYURU) (230 KMS / 5 HRS)

  • Post breakfast, drive to Leh.
  • En route, visit Alchi Monastery, one of Ladakh’s most beloved monasteries.
  • Continue the drive to Leh.
  • Check in at the camp or hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 04: LEH–NUBRA VALLEY VIA KHARDUNG LA 18,390 FT. (120 KMS / 4 – 5 HRS)

  • Post breakfast, drive to Nubra Valley.
  • Cross Khardung La Pass (5,602 meters / 18,390 feet), the highest motorable road in the world, approximately 39 km from Leh.
  • Enjoy panoramic views from the pass, with sights extending south over the Indus Valley to the Zanskar range and north to the Saser massif.
  • Arrive in Nubra Valley, also known as Ldumra or the Valley of Flowers, situated at an average altitude of 10,000 feet between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges.
  • Check in at the camp or hotel in Hunder for an overnight stay.
  • In the evening, explore the local villages and experience the lifestyle of the locals.
  • Overnight stay at the camp or hotel.

Day 05: IN NUBRA (HUNDER VILLAGE) – EXCURSION TO TURTUK

  • After an early breakfast, proceed to Turtuk, a village won by India in the 1971 war with Pakistan, located near the border.
  • Visit the 16th-century mosque with Turkish and Iranian cultural influences.
  • Explore the ruined fort of the Dhards and a local monastery.
  • Take in the magnificent view of K2, the second-highest peak in the world after Mount Everest.
  • Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 06: NUBRA VALLEY TO PANGONG LAKE (150 KMS / 5 HRS)

  • After an early breakfast, check out from the camp or hotel.
  • Drive to Hunder and enjoy an opportunity to ride a Bactrian (double-humped) camel amidst the sand dunes of the high-altitude desert, with snow-capped mountains in the background.
  • On the way back, stop at Diskit, the headquarters of Nubra Valley.
  • Stroll around the bazaar, observing local shops and people going about their daily routines.
  • Drive towards Pangong Tso via Agham and Shyok Valley, experiencing scenic yet challenging road patches.
  • After passing through the rugged terrain, continue towards Durbuk and Tangtse, passing through small villages in the Changthang region.
  • Arrive at Pangong Lake, situated at 14,000 feet (4,267 m), and check in at the camp or hotel near the lake.
  • Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 07: PANGONG LAKE TO LEH VIA CHANGLA (140 KMS / 6 HRS)

  • Morning at leisure to explore the stunning beauty of Pangong Lake, known for displaying up to five shades of blue depending on the time and vantage point.
  • Later, drive back to Leh via Changla Pass (5,486 meters).
  • Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel in Leh.

Day 08: LEH EXCURSION TO MONASTERIES (50 KMS / 02 HRS – ONE WAY)

  • Post breakfast, proceed for a tour of the Indus Valley monasteries.
  • Visit Hemis Gompa, the largest monastic foundation of the Drukpa Kagyu Order of Tibetan Buddhism.
  • Explore Thiksey Monastery, an impressive complex rising tier upon tier on a hill above the village.
  • Visit Shey Palace, the ancient capital of Ladakh.
  • Stop by the 3 Idiots Rancho School and Sindhu Ghat.
  • After sightseeing, drive back to Leh.
  • Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 09: DEPART LEH (FLY OUT)

  • Check out from the hotel.
  • Transfer to the domestic airport for your onward flight.
